SPTM S&P1500 ETF vs Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF
@koolgal:🌟🌟🌟Warren Buffett has said "Never Bet Against America". He said that despite some severe interruptions, America's economic progress has been breathtaking. $SPDR Portfolio S&P 1500 Composite Stock Market ETF(SPTM)$ and $Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF(VTI)$ are 2 ETFs that bet on the future of America. Both are low cost ETFs with a low expense ratio of 0.03%. SPTM tracks the S&P1500 Composite Index which represents 90% of the US Equity market. It includes stocks in the S&P500 Index, S&P Mid Cap 400 Index and the S&P600 Small Cap Index. To be included in the index the stocks should have positive earnings over the 4 most recent quarters. The total number of holdings in SPTM is 1505. Assets Under Management is USD 6.58 billion. VTI ETF tracks the performance of the CRSP US Total Market Index. It includes Large, Mid and small cap holdings diversified across growth and value styles. Total number of holdings is 3824 stocks. The market capitalisation is USD 127.8 Billion. The Top 10 holdings in SPTM includes the Magnificent 7 which is $Apple(AAPL)$ $Microsoft(MSFT)$ $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ Google, Meta Platforms, Tesla, Berkshire Hathaway and Eli Lilly. VTI also includes the Magnificent 7, Berkshire Hathaway and United Health. Both ETFs pay quarterly dividends. SPTM Dividend yield is 1.55%. VTI Dividend yield is 1.57%. Performance wise SPTM is up 12.25% year todate. VTI is up 12.33% year todate. As you can see both ETFs are very similar in performance and dividend yield. However SPTM has a lower price point of USD 52.84 whereas VTI is USD 213.53. I prefer SPTM as it has a lower price point and it focuses on profitable companies. However if you prefer greater diversification, VTI is better as it has 3824 holdings versus SPTM's 1505 holdings. Ultimately both ETFs offer great value for money and fantastic diversification. Both ETFs are great starting point for those who are new to investing and they minimise risk on single stocks. Best of all both SPTM and VTI pay dividends every 3 months which is a great source of passive income while waiting for capital growth. That's a Win Win situation which I simply love. With the current volatile market, high inflation, geopolitical conflicts, SPTM and VTI offer stability and are great defensive tactical plays. @Daily_Discussion @TigerStars @MillionaireTiger @CaptainTiger @Tiger_SG @TigerClub @Tiger_comments @Tiger_Earnings
