Weekly Recap | Is the bull market back after rate hike is over?
Two major events have dominated the direction of Hong Kong stocks last week.
On Tuesday, the National Bureau of Statistics released PMI data for October, which missed market expectations and triggered a correction in Hong Kong stocks;
On Thursday, the Federal Reserve decided not to raise interest rates. According to officials, the market expects that the probability of raising interest rates in January next year is less than 30%, and this round of interest rate hike cycle may be over.
After the FOMC, US stocks rose sharply, and global stock markets rebounded. Foreign investors bought A shares heavily for the second consecutive day. Hong Kong stocks also rose sharply, with $HSI(HSI)$ rising 1.53% in a week.
By sectors, healthcare and Internet sectors, which are more sensitive to interest rates, led the rally, and the rest of the sectors rose with the exception of real estate:
