Is Google A Buy Or Sell?

@koolgal
🌟🌟🌟$Alphabet(GOOG)$ $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ had been hit with a 2.1 billion Euros (USD 2.3 billion) lawsuit yesterday by 32 media groups in Europe, alleging that they had suffered losses due to the company's practices in digital advertising. The move by the group include publishers in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain and Sweden. This lawsuit comes at a time when antitrust regulators are also cracking down on Google's ad tech business. However Google said that it opposes the lawsuit, adding that it is speculative and opportunistic. Google also said that it works constructively with publishers across Europe and its advertising tools adapt and evolve in partnership with those same publishers. Google is also having problems with its Gemini AI image generator which it is currently trying to fix and has pulled it off the market. As a result, Google's share price has dropped almost 2% today and 6% in the past 5 days. Google is now down 1.6% year todate but it is still up 52% in the past year. February started off well with Google as it rebranded its chatbot from Bard to Gemini. It released 2 major product upgrades to better compete with its competitors in the high stakes AI race. Google also began allowing Gemini users to generate realistic looking images of people. Other companies like Open AI already offer tools to let users quickly make images of people that can then be used for marketing, art and brainstorming creative ideas. Like other AI products though, these image generators run the risk of perpetuating biases based on the data they have been fed in the development process. For example if you ask for a nurse and some AI services are more likely to show a woman or if you ask for a CEO, you will often see a man. Within weeks of Google launching the feature, Gemini users noticed a different problem. Starting from February 20, users on X flooded the social media platform with examples of Gemini refraining from showing White people even within a historical context. For example Founding Fathers or a German soldier from 1943. Instead Google's AI image generator produced historically inaccurate pictures of black Vikings, woman as pope, female NHL players and black and Native Americans as America's Founding Fathers. Some people described Gemini as "absurdly woke". Google's CEO Sundar Pichai said that employees have been "working around the clock" to remedy the problems users had flagged with Gemini's responses. He said that Google had registered a substantial improvement on a wide range of prompts. Sundar Pichai also said that no AI is perfect, especially at this emerging stage of its development but he recognises that the bar is high for Google and it will review what happened and make sure it is fixed at scale however long it takes. Nonetheless Wall Street Analysts are still bullish on Google with 50 Buy ratings, 15 Hold ratings and 0 Sell ratings according to Tipranks. Google average analyst target price is USD 164.59, an upside potential of 18%. I believe this is just a temporary setback for Google and am keeping faith with this great company. Google is part of the Magnificent 7 which have driven the huge growth in the S&P500 Index and Nasdaq 100. Google has a wide moat in the search engine business with 92% market share. Google is also one of the Big 3 companies in Cloud Computing. Google also owns YouTube, powers mobile phone with Android. There are numerous Google products such as Google Pixel, Google Nest, Google Chromecast, Fitbit, Google Glass and much more. Is Google A Buy Or Sell? I would say a resounding Buy! I use Google every day and so do millions of people around the world. It's a great time to bargain hunt this wonderful stock. As Warren Buffett likes to say When there is Fear in the markets it is time to be greedy. @Daily_Discussion @TigerStars @MillionaireTiger @Tiger_comments @TigerClub @CaptainTiger @Tiger_SG
