Based on a true story April Fools -

PRANK you for reading

My cousins used to work for

a large bank where gossip amongst staff traveled faster than the speed of light. One cousin; Angela and my other cousin named Paul, known for his quick wit and penchant for pranks. This is a recount of the story told to me by my cousins girlfriend who also worked for the bank….

Before April Fools' Day a number of years ago (before the internet), Paul hatched a plan to convince all his customers that a new $15 bill was being released. Knowing Angela’s gullibility, he roped her into the scheme. Paul spread the rumor like wildfire, telling anyone who would listen about the exciting new currency. Angela, caught up in the excitement and wanting to impress her cousin, joined in, enthusiastically confirming the news to customers at the bank. As April 1st approached, the buzz around the bank reached fever pitch. People eagerly awaited the release of the elusive $15 bill. On the morning of April Fools' Day, the line outside the bank stretched around the block. People of all ages queued up, clutching their wallets in anticipation. Angela and Paul watched from inside the bank, barely able to contain their laughter. But as the time passed and the line showed no signs of dwindling, Angela’s conscience began to nag at her. She whispered to Paul, "What have we done? These poor people actually believe us!"But Paul just grinned mischievously and replied, "Relax, Angela, it's all in good fun."Finally, the moment of truth arrived. The bank doors swung open, and the eager customers flooded inside, demanding their share of the non-existent $15 bills. Angela and Paul had no choice but to break the news that it was all an elaborate prank. At first, there were groans of disappointment and a few choice words directed at the cousins. But as the realisation sunk in, laughter filled the air. The customers, though initially fooled, couldn't help but admire the audacity of the prank. From that day on, Angela and Paul became legends in their bank, known for pulling off the greatest April Fools' Day prank.. And though they may have caused a bit of chaos at the bank, they also brought the community together in laughter and good spirits.

Paul however did get reprimanded by the bank manager and a warning not to repeat anything like it again!
