$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ I cannot help myself, plan 4, oh my. Plan 1, still not achieved, plan 2 and 3, are we there yet... nope. Sure plans are not set in stone and need to be adjusted over time but I'm just shaking my head so much it's ceased, think I need to see a chiropractor.
So let's go back to basics, if u study business at a university in the first year you will do management 101. Among other constructs, you will be taught the basics of strategic management... Setting short, medium and long term goals and corresponding strategies to achieve those goals.
So Elon is a visionary, a truly strategic thinker. But, I don't know, he even acknowledges his goals are "a little optimistic" seriously! His goals don't even meet the most basic strategic management principles, ie goals must be SMART. This is an acronym meaning specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time related. Ok to be fair he does meet three of the five criteria. But he fails miserably on his goals for Tesla being attainable and realistic. At best he gets a grade of C from me. But I'm not on a salary package of $56 billion, so what do I know right.
I just can't comprehend the human thought processes here (well actually I can because my specialty at university was organisational psychology). Now I devote my time to understanding investor psychology, and Elon and Tesla quite frankly fascinate me.
A very famous philosopher once said, and I'll paraphrase... imagine an organisation is like stones in a bucket of water. The bucket and the water represent the organisation, and the stones represent the people running it. Remove one stone, and basically the impact is negligible.
Elon is just one stone in a bucket of many stones, granted he's a large stone, but he's also running 4 other businesses. So in reality the displacement of water is one fifth Of his total weight.
What's the impact on Tesla and its stockholders going forward? Well you are paying one guy a ridiculous amount of money to commit one fifth of his attention to make yet another plan, that won't be accomplished.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!
But people are not waking up, and that's human nature. I could write a bloody PhD thesis on Elon a Tesla, but sadly I'm restricted to 15000 words in this post. In previous posts i have eluded to the fact I have been shorting Tesla on my demo account. And I have shown you how wrong I have been. Elon is like a Teflon pan, nothing sticks. But eventually I think it will. If Tesla goes to $200, I will definitely do real options trades, long ones, because it's going to take a while for investors to figure out that Elon is just milking the cow for free.
I'd love your comments on this post, especially if you disagree, because this is just my opinion and I really like people who have a totally different perspective. And hey Elon created the cow, made many rich in the process, including himself, the milk is free for him now. Capitalism at it's finest @Daily_Discussion @Alex Puffin On Two Smokes
