To The Moon

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Oh boy, back on the topic of Tesla. If you follow me, you know I'm not on the Tesla fan base, for one... I love a V8. And batteries, well I don't mind them on a drill or a rattle gun but not on my drop saw or bench saw. 

But even though I cringe pretty much every time Elon posts anything, because it's words that don't get followed up with actions, I have to concede one overwhelming factor in Elon's favour.

My father fought in WW2 he was a signal man on a British mine sweeping boat on D day, his ship was torpedoed, he was wounded but the ship was able to limp back to port. nothing close to what American soldiers faced that day though. Anyway my point is... regarding Americans (he called you guys yanks) he said "Yanks... where there's led there's hope" never understood that until the war in Iraq. 

Anyway back to Tesla... the phrase becomes "Elon, where there's money there's hope" Elon has a seemingly endless supply of money. He sets lofty goals, I would go so far as to say totally unrealistic, but at least he's out there doing it. Let's face it he has done amazing things with Tesla. And no less impressive is spaceX, dam he's burning up billions to make starship successful.

Do i agree with his ethos? No. But he is a billionaire, I am not. Credit where credit is due, Elon is a force of nature, and to be fair I doubt he would ever entertain taking my thoughts even remotely serious. 

Will Tesla break $220? Yup. The reality is Elon has a clear strategy that eventually leads to success. Maybe not as he initially expresses, but he is tenacious, confident, and sees failure as a mere stepping stone to success. 

So do I own Tesla stock? Not directly, but yes through $Vanguard S&P 500 ETF(VOO)$  I do have Tesla. I guess in conclusion I'm bearish on Tesla, only because I don't like Elon's approach. But let's face the facts... Elon's approach works exceedingly well. So who am I to cast doubts.

History shows us that humans back winners, until they are not. I hope Elon succeeds in his many endeavours because he has already made a difference in so many ways, star link a prime example. Inhabiting mars, seriously! Actually why not, I mean the original TV series called Star Trek, their communicators are actually the reality. Elon is a dreamer that turns the impossible into reality, not always, but who cares. He has done it. 

In history, who is revered more. Politicians? No. Explorers, scientists, entrepreneurs? Yes. Elon is the latter not the former. And all this love of Elon from a person that really doesn't love Elon. That's what an emotional investor is, stepping outside your preconceived opinions and testing the reality of how you see the world. Questioning yourself, challenging yourself and you convictions.
