Olympic Prize Money: An Annuity Choice

The Thai delegation won one gold, three silver and two bronze medals, and the Sports Authority of Thailand will issue a total prize money of over 74 million baht

The Olympic prize money is provided by the National Sports Development Foundation of Thailand.The prize money is awarded in two ways at the discretion of the athletes:

1. 12 million baht for Gold Medal, 7.2 million baht for Silver Medal and 4.8 million baht for Bronze Medal, with 50% of the prize money paid in a single lump sum, and the remaining 50% to be paid each month over a period of four years;

2. 10 million baht for the gold medal, 6 million baht for the silver medal and 4 million baht for the bronze medal, all paid at once.

In addition, the Thai Olympic Committee will provide Olympic medalists with a salary for 20 years:

1. 12,000 baht per month for gold medalists, totaling 2.88 million baht;

2. 10,000 baht per month for silver medalists, totaling 2.4 million baht;

3. 8,000 baht per month for bronze medalists, totaling 1.92 million baht.
