NVDA: What's the Surprise from ER?

Ahead of tomorrow's $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ earnings event -- I want to highlight some key pre-earnings considerations 🧐

Blackwell Series

Concerns have surfaced about potential delays in the release of Nvidia's next-generation AI chips due to design flaws -- which have pressured the stock over the past few weeks. The anticipated three-month delay for the B100, B200, and GB200 chips could significantly disrupt operations for customers in early 2025.

However, Nvidia’s supply partners offer a more optimistic view -- suggesting that initial shipments of the GB200s could start as early as Q4 this year, with full production ramping up in Q1. This positive outlook sharply contrasts with fears of halted production lines. Commentary on the Blackwell series will be HUGE during the earnings call.

$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ Earnings

Additionally, TSMC’s recent optimistic earnings and advancements in their CoWoS architecture indicate a strong demand outlook for AI chips -- bolstering Nvidia’s plans for their next-gen products. It’s also important to note that 40% of Nvidia’s revenues come from four major companies: $Microsoft(MSFT)$ , $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ , $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ & $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ , all of which have recently reported expenditures exceeding estimates.

Q2 Earnings Estimates

• Sales Est. $28.7B -- up 113% YoY

• EPS Est. $0.64 -- up 138% YoY
