Why S&P 500 Energy Sector Now?

If we have seen how Energy stocks have moved since the geopolitical tensions in middle east happen, we could see that energy stocks have managed to gain more than 2%.

So is the S&P 500 Energy Sector still performing? and can we still have some potential to invest? I am comparing it with the S&P 500 Financial Sector as we are seeing financial stocks beginning their earnings season today (11 Oct).

The financial sector is already in the leading quadrant, so we could still see opportunities from the S&P 500 Energy sector as it is in the improving quadrant, and it could be moving to the leading quadrant next.

Exxon Mobil Helping S&P 500 Energy Sector Strength

If we looked at the stocks in the S&P 500 Energy by weightage, we can see that they are performing significantly, and I would expect the performance to continue to next week.

$Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund(XLE)$ Performance

To take advantage of the rise in energy stocks, we could invest in $Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund(XLE)$ and the weekly chart is showing that there is potential upside as MACD is forming a bullish upside trend.

On the KDJ, we are also seeing upward trend movement from the J value and there should be a nice surge up coming in weeks to come.

Summary

I would think that energy sector should continue to do well as the geopolitical tensions might have lasting effect on some of the businesses.
