[Stock prediction] Which stock is a big winner this week ? (AAPL, AMZN, META, GOOG, MSFT)
Next week, Meta, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and Alphabet will all report their earnings. Which company will be the big winner next week?
Tech stocks have been on fire this year, with the NASDAQ up 15% year-to-date. Investors are eagerly awaiting the release of these earnings reports to see if these companies can back up their stock gains with solid fundamentals. Can the rally continue?
Earnings Highlights:
$Alphabet(GOOG)$ Alphabet’s recent revamp of its core search business with the Gemini 1.5 Pro model should help it maintain mid-teens revenue growth and a 30%+ operating margin. Google Cloud’s strong profitability is offsetting its higher capital spending, which is now 50%-60% above historical levels. YouTube TV and Premium subscriptions, with annual revenue above $15 billion, could help cushion any decline from Google Play. Waymo's progress in commercialization will be a key focus in the second half.
$Microsoft(MSFT)$ : Microsoft’s extensive software lineup makes it a top choice as companies upgrade outdated IT systems. Its leadership in cloud infrastructure and close partnership with OpenAI position it to benefit from the rising demand for generative AI. By 2025, Microsoft could generate $16-$18 billion from AI products, largely driven by Azure AI. While AI-related costs may temporarily hit margins, steady growth in Office applications should help profitability.
$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ : Despite losing some developers to Snap, Meta’s AI products continue to gain traction. The integration of generative AI across its apps has boosted ad revenue, and ad pricing is improving. While Reality Labs’ losses weigh on free cash flow, Meta’s investment in AI infrastructure is likely to further enhance ad targeting and recommendations.
$Apple(AAPL)$ : iPhone 16 sales in China have surprised with a 20% increase in the first three weeks post-launch. However, expectations for continued double-digit growth through 2025 remain cautious. Apple’s services business, supported by over 2.2 billion active devices worldwide, is expected to grow modestly. Despite new AI features driving product upgrades, supply chain and geopolitical risks continue to pose challenges.
$Amazon.com(AMZN)$ : Amazon’s strength in retail, cloud computing, and advertising positions it well for long-term growth. AWS cloud services are expected to post high double-digit revenue growth in Q3, with margins improving year-over-year. Although increased investment in AWS may impact margins short term, the long-term outlook remains solid.
