What Surprises or Shocks Have You Encountered in the Market?

The stock market has been full of "surprises" lately!

  1. Last week, there was news that "BlackRock bought a huge stake in $PDD Holdings Inc(PDD)$ ," which turned out to be a mistake: the reported shares were accidentally “multiplied by 4,” and Pinduoduo's stock closed down 4.8% on that day.

  2. $McDonald's(MCD)$ faced a sudden “black swan” event, dropping 5%. An E. coli outbreak, believed to be linked to McDonald's quarter-pounder burgers, led to dozens being hospitalized and one fatality. As a result, McDonald's temporarily removed this burger from the menu in multiple states across the U.S.

  3. $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ earnings report took an “unexpected” turn last week, with shares surging over 20% in one day, making it difficult for investors trying to keep up.

However, don’t regret missing out—after all, as Warren Buffett once said:

"Charlie and I have surely missed some investment opportunities over the years, but only a few regrets are significant. We’ve missed many things, and we only really regret missing the most crucial ones. We never worry about what we don’t understand."

So, what surprises or shocks have you encountered in the market recently?

Have you profited or lost from the “surprises“?
