So i started my tiger jouRney with NZ$10,000. In the last 6 months it has grown to NZ$49,000. so im rather happy with the investment approach i developed using the demo account, and continue to refine in the live account.
Have i been saving money? No, atm my expenses exceed my income so ive had to dip into my savings. But im still floating on top of the waves. My initial goal was to double my money in a year, this goal is now ancient history. My new goal is to generate a monthly income of $8,000 minimum. This would mean i could give up my day job, pay all my bills and save around $500 a week.
But wait theres more... once i get my portfolio to $250,000 i intend to spend to save. Its a simple plan really, currently over half of my income is used up on rent. So im going to buy a nice RV for about $100k and ditch the house i rent, plus sell off all the stuff i own that I don't need, and can't have in an RV. I have worked out a budget and i can basically half my expenses, and my new income source just requires a starlink and probably a new computer.
Then i just cruise around New Zealand at my leisure, set up trades, and action the even longer term plan. What's that you ask? Spend to save...
You see, the stock market is beginning a bull run that should last at least another 6 months to a year. Its easy to make money in the next year, almost too easy, but it won't always be. So im cruising round New Zealand with a purpose... to find and buy some nice but cheap land, that i can live off, im a carpenter so no issue building a house. Im now spending to create wealth.
And i will share this journey with fellow tigers that are interested, follow me please so you can keep up with my posts easier. Heck ill even share a few pics if that floats your boat.
Im realistic, all this wont happen tomorrow, middle of 2025 ill have the RV. Then the journey kicks off. I have goals, and a clear plan to turn the goals into reality.
Save to spend, and spend to save :) and most of all, have fun doing it.
