$Occidental(OXY)$ oil is a non-renewable resource. Owning a piece of an oil field (even a tiny one) is like holding a long-term option on time. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been earning some premiums on OXY by selling puts and then covered calls after assignment. It gave me a chance to study the company more closely. My biggest takeaway? Oil prices are way too sensitive to geopolitics. The company’s short-term earnings swings often say more about headlines than fundamentals. Long-term value? You’ve gotta zoom out and give it time.
