2026 IPO Run-Up: SpaceX, OpenAI, and Big Tech Tailwinds
Nothing in the last 25 years comes close to the potential 2026 IPO lineup.
Combined with AI possibly being the greatest technological breakthrough since the internet...
We are looking at the single most important IPO year of the modern era...maybe ever.
I've thought long & hard about this, and here's how I plan to position myself during the "run-up":
First? The behemoth...SpaceX.
Tracking to be one of the largest IPOs ever (!!!), valuation looking to break over $1T.
This re-ignites all things space. Rockets, satellites, communication infrastructure, deep space...everything.
The theme has already started, but plenty of room to accelerate into IPO day.
Current space-adjacent ideas that can continue to explode from the anticipation of a SpaceX IPO include:
$Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ - closest public comp to spaceX...space, satellites, gov't contracts
$AST SpaceMobile, Inc.(ASTS)$ - space-based cellular broadband, starlink competitor (narrative upside)
$Planet Labs Pbc(PL)$ - satellite imaging + geospatial data...high-frequency earth observation too, good narrative fit
Okay, cool. SpaceX..got it.
But what else?
OpenAI...maybe the hottest of all.
This can be gasoline on the fire for the AI trade...many names in play here.
$Microsoft(MSFT)$ - $13B invested in OpenAI already...owns 49% of the "economic rights" of the for-profit entity. co-dev'ing ai products too
$NVIDIA(NVDA)$ - compute engine behind OpenAI
$Broadcom(AVGO)$ - networking & asic partner, partnered on custom silicon
+ $Oracle(ORCL)$ $SUPER MICRO COMPUTER INC(SMCI)$ $Arista Networks(ANET)$
As tech leads the markets, I'm looking at an OpenAI IPO as more of a big picture tailwind for the entire market...many winners here.
Next potential huge IPO? Anthropic.
I'm focused on one name here...and that's Amazon.
$Amazon.com(AMZN)$ - invested $4B into anthropic, which runs training + inference on aws. If anthropic IPOs, Amzn is the best beneficiary w the best setup
Other hyped potential IPO? Stripe.
One of my favs, but what company benefits from this theme?
$Shopify(SHOP)$ - stripe powers shopify payments, which is shopify's high margin revenue line...clear winner for me
Those are a few of my main focuses, but after that?
ByteDance IPO? Watch $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ $Alibaba(BABA)$
Databricks IPO? Watch $Snowflake(SNOW)$ $Confluent, Inc.(CFLT)$
Kraken IPOs? Watch $Coinbase Global, Inc.(COIN)$ $Robinhood(HOOD)$
Canva IPOs? Watch $Adobe(ADBE)$ $Figma(FIG)$
In markets, the "run-up" anticipation is often more powerful than the actual IPO or event...hence why I am positioning in companies that are already publicly traded.
These will be the best vehicles to take advantage of the hype, anticipation, and excitement during the run up.
Again, these IPOs are not guaranteed to happen this year, but there is plenty of speculation...and I want to be prepared for an outlier year in IPO land.
And there are plenty of ways to play the IPO hype, but these are just *some* of my ideas.
