Is pure tram the ultimate form of new energy vehicles?

Recently, I worked as a transportation consultant for the government here in the Middle East, and found that most GCC countries are laying out the transformation of transportation electrification and hydrogen energy at the same time, which is quite interesting.

Saudi Arabia, for example, aims to become the world's largest exporter of hydrogen energy. Saudi Arabia is now a very important oil exporter in the world. If they integrate hydrogen economy into the oil industry, it is really reasonable. Because Saudi Arabia originally exported oil, it changed to export hydrogen energy in the future, which can well maintain the current economic and political rights structure. But imagine, if the traffic in the future is pure trams powered by batteries, what do they rely on exports?

It can be seen that for a country, the choice of energy is not only the choice of efficiency, but also influenced by many factors such as politics and economy. In this case, the question of whether pure trams are the ultimate form becomes more acute.

At the Tesla Investor Conference last week, Musk also mentioned the application of hydrogen energy in transportation for the first time, but firmly denied the possibility of hydrogen energy being used in passenger cars.

Everyone thinks that China has invested so much in the pure electricity market, is it possible to switch to hydrogen energy in the future? Will the sunk cost be too high?
