Beginners' Guide To Call Options (Part 2 of 3) | Why Does The Value Of A Call Option Change?

Original video was posted on The Joyful Investors' YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/TheJoyfulInvestors)

Recall in the 1st part of this Beginners' Guide To Call Options series👨‍🏫, we shared about an analogy of Jerry using the concept of call option to purchase his dream house? The value of the call option he bought stays constant throughout, but this is not the case for the call options in the financial markets. In the 2nd part of this series, we will be sharing with you why the value of call options in the financial markets fluctuate.

I really like options. But I use very little and I don't know how to determine the price.

We don’t calculate option price like how we calculate intrinsic value of stocks using DCF.Importantly, it is to understand what factors will cause the price to go up/down,& determine when to buy/sell

I've learned a lot more complicated options before. There are also a lot of restrictions on options. But judicious use can make a big difference.😁😁

We can sell covered call options on positions which we have 100 shares in our portfolio to earn the call premium [Smile]

I would do it on stocks that I have 100 shares in my portfolio (covered call) to earn the call premium as extra income
