Tesla China Delivery Surges by 235%, TSLA More Close to 2 Trillion?

China Market Sales Occupying Half of its Global Territory.

According to the sales data released by the China Passenger Transport Association On January 11:In December 2021, $(Tesla)$ delivered about 70,847 China made vehicles which is a 34% increase from the previous month’s sales data.

According to a press statement, Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai produced 484,130 cars in 2021, up 235% of the prior year and accounting for more than half of Tesla’s global yearly deliveries (936,000). And Tesla China accounted for 51.7%, occupying "half of the country" of its global territory.The detailed sales of different Model are as follow:

After Tuesday's  trading, Tesla closed at $1064.4 a share, and with a 14.4% up distant from its record high.Some Comparison of other Energy Car Producers in China:

  • In 2021,$(002594)$ sold a total of 603,783 new energy vehicles, an increase of 218.30% Y-O-Y.
  • $(XPEV)$ delivered a high of 16,000 units in December, an increase of 181% y-o-y, and its full-year sales in 2021 reached 98,182 units, an increase of 260% over 2020 deliveries.
  • $(NIO)$ delivered 10,489 new vehicles in December, a year-on-year increase of 49.7%, but a month-on-month decline of 3.58%. The annual sales in 2021 will reach 91,429 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 109.1%.
  • In the last month of 2021, $(Li)$ delivered 14,087 units, and its full-year sales in 2021 reached 90,491 units, a year-on-year increase of 177.4%.

What is the expected growth of the new energy vehicle market in 2022?

First of all, from the perspective of 2021, the cumulative retail sales of new energy vehicles is 2.989 million, a year-on-year increase of 169.1%, and the penetration rate from January to December is 14.8%, which is a significant increase from the 5.8% penetration rate in 2020.

According to the current production capacity of Tesla's four major factories in the world, Tesla's sales are expected to reach 2 million in 2022:

(1) California factory: After the expansion is completed, the production capacity is about 800,000 vehicles/year, and currently there are only 600,000 vehicles/year, producing Model S, Model X, Model Y and Model 3.

(2) Shanghai plant: The production capacity is about 500,000 vehicles per year, producing Model 3 and Model Y, and the expansion can reach 900,000 vehicles per year.

(3) Berlin plant, Germany: It will gradually put into production at the end of 2021, producing Model Y and Model 3, with a planned production capacity of 500,000 vehicles per year.

(4) Texas plant: It will gradually put into production in 2022, producing Model Y, Model 3 and Cybertruck, with a planned production capacity of 500,000 vehicles per year.
