ps : this afterthought article is for Singaporean male citizens (only) who have or had completed their national services training, preparing and regularly gearing/refreshing themselves to be combat fit if ever call to play. 

To commemorate 55 years of national hood building through National Service, the incumbent government has decided to reflect the collective resolve and dedication of our national servicemen across generations who have contributed to the defence and security of Singapore, and inspires Singaporeans to continue building a stronger Singapore in the form of recognition package of $100 worth of credit.

In a bid to entice NS men to embrace digitalisation as part of daily lives, the credit gifted will only be accessible via LifeSG app; acting like your banking mobile app with the $100 credit to your name only (LOL).

Apparently, some “smart alec” was quick to realize besides being able to use the gift-credit on food or services based on the list of pre-approved merchants, the credit could also be withdrawn (with a 20 cents processing fee) as cold hard cash. 

In the process of doing so, the beneficiary enjoys the freedom of choice on whom or where he could spend his cash.  Liberating isn’t it? 

To take consumption up a notch, would you consider using your $90 cash (maximum that could be withdrawn) on quality stocks (SG, HK or US) ?  Take it that investing is also an alternate form of consumption no ?  LOL !!
