I know this does not fit with everyone's agenda but the reality of the share slide has zero to do with 'woke' anything.
Professional and institutional investors look at the business model. The short, medium and long term strategy and not just the here and now profit or loss, social media noise or political electioneering.
The price hikes, additional revenue generators and penny pinching in the parks will come back to bite them in 2023.
I'm not convinced that the streaming models currently available industry wide are sustainable. The costs of fighting to maintain/increase market share will make it less lucrative. There's just too many players on the pitch fighting for the same ball. Will there be a big merger? Who will be involved?
Finally, although he has many sound management qualities, I do not think Chapek has the political savvy or required charisma to lead Disney. More importantly, those with financial clout who have adopted a wait and see approach, will demand change and I think it will come sooner rather than later.
