什麼是恐慌指數？
VIX全名是芝加哥期權交易所波動率指數(Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index)，用以衡量S&P 500指數未來30日的預期年化波動率。VIX指數的“成分股”是S&P500指數的期權，每一個期權的價格反映出市場對未來波動率的預期，如傳統指數計算，VIX根據既定原則選定期權，並按照公式加權。
VIX基於期權的隱含波動率編制而成，在期權交易中，隱含波動率通常代表着對市場未來風險程度的預期，因此VIX往往被看作是領先市場的風向標。一個高VIX的市場往往意味着恐慌情緒的蔓延，所以VIX也被戲稱爲“恐慌性指數”。
