Some of the notable economic data:

• We will know about US CB consumer confidence (Mar). This implies consumer confidence and can be a good reference on demand.

• China will be reporting her manufacturing PMI (Mar) and this will provide a guide on the global demand for China’s production. A figure less than 50 implies a decline.

• US initial jobless claims - this is one of the data points that the Fed will review in preparation for the next rate hike decision.

• Core PCE Price Index (Mom - Feb) - this is one of the Fed’s preferred references for inflation. Thus, a stronger-than-expected figure would imply inflation and thus, a more hawkish Fed.

• Crude Oil Inventories can be seen as forward indicators of market demand and consumption. If the trend of excess inventories continues, this implies demand erosion that can lead to reduced production & weakening consumer spending.
