Nasdaq, S&P, Dow notch three-day win streaks, add more than 3% each for the week

$Nasdaq100 Bull 3X ETF(TQQQ)$

U.S. stocks on Friday ended higher for a third straight session after a Federal Reserve-preferred inflation reading moderated, fueling hopes that the central bank may be closer to ending its rate hiking cycle.

Investors resumed buying growth stocks, with consumer discretionary and communication services names taking their turn in the spotlight.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (COMP.IND) ended up 1.74% at 12,221.91 points. The benchmark S&P 500 (SP500) was higher by 1.44% to close at 4,109.31 points, while the blue-chip Dow (DJI) added 1.26% to settle at 33,274.15 points.

All 11 S&P sectors ended in the green, led by Consumer Discretionary, Real Estate and Communication Services. Energy rose the least.

For the week, all three major averages posted gains of more than 3% each.

Economic data showed that the core personal consumption expenditures index - the Fed's preferred gauge of inflation - gained +0.3% in February, slower than the +0.6% rise in January. On a Y/Y basis, core PCE came in at 4.6%, slightly lower than the forecasted 4.7% level.

The numbers added strength to the case for the Fed to consider ending its rate-hiking campaign.

According to the CME FedWatch tool, markets are now pricing in a ~46% probability of no hike at the central bank's monetary policy committee meeting in May, and a ~54% probability of a 25 basis point hike.

Market goes up over time. Scaring one's self silly and missing out or losing money shorting from the bottom is not a legitimate investment strategy.

another week making just about 1/2 percent or a little more by writing out of the money puts on red days. The low stress method to a decent annualized return.
