Sharing my favourite snacks especially pineapple tarts and drinks for my family and guests during Chinese New Year.
Pineapples are called “ong lai” in Hokkien and Cantonese, which literally translates to “fortune come,” hence their popularity during the Lunar celebrations. It is considered lucky to have them during Chinese New Year, and giving pineapple tarts as gifts symbolises good fortune and luck.
Mandarin oranges and pomelos are common Chinese New Year fruit because they're believed to bring good luck and happiness. The Chinese words for orange and tangerine closely resemble the words for luck and wealth. The gold color also symbolizes prosperity
Taking this opportunity to wish all the staff of Tiger Brokers and all Tiger friends a Happy Chinese New Year, good health, good luck and prosperity.
