Unity has a strong competitive advantage given: the size of their developer community, the amount of assets available in their store, their great pricing model (free until your generate a certain amount of money), the lack of competition (UE4 and Godot would be the main competitors), the boom in mobile gaming (which is the platform where Unity shines the most).
