Options Market Statistics (2/24): Nvidia Stock Options Pop After Earnings

U.S. stock indexes opened lower after an inflation gauge favored by the Federal Reserve showed stronger-than-expected price pressures.

The moves put all three indexes on course to end the holiday-shortened week in the red, despite modest gains Thursday.

Stock markets have wavered this month. Robust economic data, while positive for the growth outlook, have raised concerns that the Fed will keep interest rates steady at higher levels to ensure inflation is brought under control.

Musk recently won a private securities fraud trial about the tweet. Essentially, a jury found that Musk didn't cause investors harm by tweeting: "Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured, " on Aug. 7, 2018. $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$  shares edged higher,with option volume of nearly 2.39 million, and calls accounted for 56.1% of the volume. The 200.00, 205.00, and 210.00 calls lead the flow.

Chip makers are abuzz about the latest hot-thing in tech: artificial-intelligence tools that generate text with minimal prompting, require massive computing power to run and promise a lucrative new revenue stream.$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$  shares rallied over 14%, with volume nearly 2.5x normal at nearly 1.88 million contracts, and puts accounted for 51.7% of the volume. The 240.00 calls and 230.00 puts were traded most actively.

$AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ shares dipped, with option volume of nearly 1 million, and puts accounted for almost 62.1% of the volume. The 3.00 puts expiring in a month were traded most actively with a volume of over 120,000.

An activist shareholder is seeking to have climate change activist Al Gore removed from his long-standing position on Apple Inc.'s board of directors. $Apple(AAPL)$  shares rose slightly, with option volume of nearly 820,000, and calls accounted for 55.5 of the volume. The $150 calls lead the flow.
