It was a welcome respite to see the US market making up for last Friday's lost grounds. Whatsmore having the guts to "mini-rally" a day before Jan 2023 CPI report to be released on Tue morning. Bold ? Commendable ? When Market Closed On 13 Feb Evening : DJIA : +1.11% (+376.66 to 34,245.93). S&P 500 : +1.14% (+46.83 to 4,137.29). Nasdaq : +1.48% (+173.67 to 11,891.79). Best performing Index. Edging ever closer to the 12,000 mark. The VIX hardly budged; signalling there was little to no fear / panic in the market ytd. 14 Jan 2023 CPI Index - What Will It Be ? Jan 2023 CPI Index - Forecast Mock Up ONLY !! *** Based On Views From The Ground, It's Likely That CPI (all components) will come in at 6.2%; thats a -0.3% from Dec CPI of 6.5% CPI (exclude food & energy) will come in at 5.4%; thats also a -0.3% improvement from Dec CPI of 5.7% If its true that the US Market has already factored the forecast ytd, Mon (13 Feb), when the index is confirmed at 8:30am US time - will it be a runaway when trading resumes at 9:30am US time ? Will Artificial Intelligence Stocks Be In Focus Today ? My "US Market on 13 Feb" post, mentioned about Energy stocks Mentioned in my post US Market on 13 Feb 2023 that energy stocks could trend downwards in the immediate to short term. Above diagram shows some "shortlisted"companies stock prices for Mon 13 Feb. With news about ChatGPT, $Microsoft(MSFT)$ Bing search engine [incorporating ChatGPT] and $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ 's Bard hogging the internet for the past few days - will this period be the Rise Of The Artificial Intelligence stocks from today until end of this week ? Not even focusing on the above 2 stocks but more of the followings : $C3.ai, Inc.(AI)$ $Micron Technology(MU)$ $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ - FYI... Plantir has delivered a better than expected Q4 2022 earnings ytd after market has closed. Quite certain that it will gallop today. Question is how fast & how sustainable ? How Will The Market Behave Today 14 Feb 2023 (Tue) ? Looking at US Pre-market indicators (above diagram) - All Red except Nasdaq Futures! Bitcoin & Ethereum prices for last hour & 24 hours (above diagram) - Red & Red! Asia markets (ASX - Green !, Nikkei - Green !, KOPSI - Green !, HSI - Red !) EU markets - -(DAX - Green !, FTSE - Green !, CAC - Green !). Will the following stocks' Q4 2022 Earnings released today, be able to buffer Market's downwards trend or boost is upturn cycle ? Coca Cola ($KO). GlobalFoundaries ($GFS) Upstart ($UPST) NU Holdings ($NU). Do you think the Market will be Up or Down today ? Do you think AI related stocks will be on the rise today until Friday ?
