Investors were celebrating after Powell’s speech🎤 on 30/11🥳 & the S&P 500 & Nasdaq🚀🚀🚀 It was the longgg-awaited “Santa & Post-Election Rally” that everyone had expected, SO WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT⁉️

The DJIA & the S&P 500 closed 0.56% & 0.09% lower respectively while Nasdaq gained 0.13%🫠🫠🫠 These were due to a mixed batch of economic data, including a core personal consumption expenditure that was slightly better than expected on a monthly basis & a bigger-than-expected decline in the ISM Manufacturing Index.

⚠️ Investors are weighing the effects of the rate hikes & how it will affect growth & company earnings in 2023…

🤔 The 👍📰 is that according to a Goldman Sachs analyst (FYI which I don’t really trust) ➡️ "Taken together, these two pieces of data may be suggestive of a soft landing for the US economy as long as growth does not slip much further,"

🤔 Popular tech & 🇨🇳 stocks that🚀🚀🚀 on Wed faced resistance in moving up & some declined which presents as a buying opportunity before the next 🐂 rally $TQQQ(TQQQ)$  $Apple(AAPL)$ $Microsoft(MSFT)$ $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ $Pinduoduo Inc.(PDD)$ 

What NOW 🐂 or 🐻⁉️

Investors are focused on the Labor Department's report on non-farm payrolls, the unemployment rate & hourly wages, due at 9.30pm SG⏰ tonight, 2/12. This is the final monthly employment report before the Federal Reserve's 2-day meeting on Dec 13 & 14, in which the central bank is expected to raise its fed funds target rate by a 50bps.

‼️Economists expect the economy to have added 200,000 jobs in Nov, a decrease from the 261,000 it added in Oct.

🐂 If expectations are met & around 200,000 jobs were added, suggesting a soft-landing & optimism for 2023, a 🐂 rally might occur. 

🐻 If expectations are exceeded & too many jobs are added, it may lead to increased inflation which markets may view as negative, inducing a sell-off. 

🐻 If expectations aren’t met, & less than 200,000 jobs were added, investors would be concerned about recession-risks, & there may be a short sell-off.
