Tesla in 2022

@ToughCoyote
Today, let's talk about Tesla's revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2022. Revenue, operating profit and free cash flow were found to be record-breaking. Overall, I guess it should be their best quarter, with car sales revenue of $18.69 billion, but here I found their car gross margin at just 27.9% (the same as the previous quarter). This is down from a few quarters ago, when the company could maintain vehicle gross margin at around 30% Total production in the third quarter of 2022 was 365,000 vehicles, while the total number of vehicles delivered was 343,000, whether the risk of a decline in gross margin is persistent I think investors should also pay attention to this link. Earnings per share were $1.05, compared to $0.99 by analysts. Total revenue for the quarter was $21.45 billion, lower than analysts' estimates of $21.96 billion. Musk has mentioned that in the face of the impending global recession, Tesla has the ability to resist recession, but it cannot prevent the global economy from falling into recession. Tesla won't cut production numbers because the world is shifting to electric cars, and people on the planet have decided to stop using gasoline cars. I personally think that if the world goes into recession, demand is unlikely to be unaffected. If there is an economic crisis next year, it will be interesting to see how the situation will develop. In terms of market share, market share in Europe and China is likely to slow, while Tesla's market share in the US/Canada is just under 3.5%. Finally, I want to mention the potential risk, I think Tesla will be affected to some extent in the current tight environment or the world economic slowdown, plus the Fed's interest rate hike will force its valuation to be repriced. Investors must also consider the sustainability of growth momentum and avoid over-optimism. In the past, Tesla had a high PE because it could grow rapidly, and if one day it could lose that momentum, the market would re-price and value new PE. Another potential risk is in Tesla's management, offending also to say, I think his words are sometimes too exaggerated, his words are also easy to cause market fluctuations, holding his company shares must do a good job in this aspect of psychological construction. Technical analysis, I think the $200 price is a key psychological support, if the stock price is broken, then investors will panic, and then further cause selling pressure on the stock price.
