Steep recession = no more rate hikes, and eventual pivot to easing (but... *recession*)
No recession = no rates relief
Oh and to make it more complicated, the third option:
Inverse goldilocks
-mediocre economy
-rates stay high(er)
--worst of both worlds
---no catharsis, just lame
investor portfolio allocations to cash rose to one of the highest readings of the past decade during October.
It reflects a change in investor moods,
a change in alternatives,
and a change in the risk vs return outlook...
