This is an amazing turnaround for a company that was trading at just AUD6.30 in March 2020 and yesterday 's closing price of AUD 14.74. $Event Hospitality(EVT.AU)$ owns the largest cinema chains in Australia and New Zealand as well as hotels and resorts in both countries and Germany. Profit After Tax was AUD 53.3 million, a AUD 101.4 million improvement on the previous year loss. The Entertainment business benefited from customers returning to the cinemas and blockbuster films were released. These were Top Fun Maverick and Spider Man No Way Home. The Hotels Division experienced a strong recovery with record room rates and steady growth in occupancy. According to EVT CEO Jane Hastings "We have a strong balance sheet and net debt is below pre Covid Levels, positioning us to invest for growth and capitalise on opportunities." Event commands a 26% share of the Australian and New Zealand cinema market with the next biggest player Village Cinemas holding 20% share. Event is also active in property redevelopment which includes a large portfolio of freehold holdings.
