Setback for Sage (NASDAQ:SAGE) as Parkinson's study misses mark
Sage Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SAGE) today announced the topline results from its PRECEDENT study, a Phase 2 clinical trial investigating the efficacy of dalzanemdor (SAGE-718), an oral medication aimed at treating mild cognitive impairment (MCI) associated with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). The study unfortunately did not meet its primary endpoint. The PRECEDENT trial, which was double-blind and placebo-controlled, tested the impact of daily doses of dalzanemdor on cognitive function as measured by the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV) Coding Test. The results at day 42 did not show a statistically significant improvement in cognitive scores among participants receiving the drug compared to those given a placebo.
