There are a few factors that could affect the outcome of the IPO. First, the valuation of the company is a key issue. Arm is currently seeking a valuation of up to $52 billion, which is lower than the initial target range of $60-70 billion. This could be due to concerns about the smartphone market and the company's exposure to China. Second, the timing of the IPO is also a factor. The IPO is coming at a time of rising interest rates and market uncertainty, which could make it more difficult for Arm to attract investors. Third, the interest from major tech companies is a positive sign for the IPO. Apple, Amazon, and Samsung are all interested in becoming anchor investors, which would provide a vote of confidence in the company. Overall, the Arm Holdings IPO is a risky investment, but it als

This would represent a climb-down from the $64 billion valuation at which SoftBank last month acquired the 25% stake it did not already own in the company from its $100 billion Vision Fund.It remains unclear whether Arm will attract enough investor demand to seek a higher valuation ahead of its IPO pricing on Sept. 13.The source requested anonymity because the matter is confidential. $ARM Holdings Ltd(ARM)$ is set to be the largest IPO since 2021. According to its latest filings, price will be between $47 and $51 per share, with 95.5 million shares being offered. This puts ARM's IPO valuation between $50 billion and $54 billion, lower than the $64 billion valuation when $Softbank Group Corp(SFTBY)$ optained the remaining 25% stake last month. It also confirms major tech companies, including $Apple(AAPL)$ , $Alphabet(GOOG)$ $Alphabet(GOOGL)$ $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ $NVIDIA

SoftBank-Backed Arm Prices IPO at $51 a Share

-- Arm Holdings Plc priced its initial public offering at the top end of its range to raise $4.87 billion in the largest listing of the year, one that could give a major lift to long-suffering equity markets. While Arm had previously aimed to raise $8 billion to $10 billion, that target was lowered at least in part because SoftBank decided to buy the roughly 25% stake held by its Vision Fund and then hold onto a larger portion of the shares in the company. After the IPO, SoftBank will still control about 90% of the company’s shares, Arm said in its filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The offering is being led by Barclays Plc, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Mizuho Financial Group Inc. Raine Securities LLC is also acting as financial adviser in connection with the IPO.

it doesnt seem like the roughly 600 million dollars per year of net income from the ownership of ARM have been factored into that math. Even that probably understates the value that ARM brought in once you factor in stuff like tax breaks and R&D concessions. With the benefit of hindsight maybe they should have put the SoftBank acquisition money into buying NVIDIA shares instead, I know I wish that I'd put my whole life savings into NVDIA two years ago, but you can hardly blame them for that.
