Berkshire submitted a required quarterly report to the U.S. SEC last week.

Results showed Berkshire’s operating profits had soared 45% from a year before to $7.3bn in the final three months of the year. The gains were propelled by strong results from its BNSF Railway and the string of electric utilities it owns. The company’s stock has advanced 6.4% this year, far ahead of the 8% slide by the S&P 500.

Berkshire’s many operating companies, which include ice cream purveyor Dairy Queen, the Geico insurer, and private jets operator NetJets, nonetheless had a banner year.Berkshire’s Apple stake is now worth more than $160 billion, making up a 40% of its equity portfolio. In the annual letter, the 91-year-old investing legend listed Apple under the heading “Our Four Giants” and even called the company the second-most important after Berkshire’s cluster of insurers, thanks to its chief executive.

our ownership is a mere 5.55%, up from 5.39% a year earlier,” Buffett said in the letter. The conglomerate has enjoyed regular dividends from the tech giant over the years, averaging about $775 million annually.

The Full-year net income for Berkshare more than doubled from a year prior to $89.8bn, or $59,460 per class A share, a result that included a large gain on the rise in value of its stock holdings.

The company spent $27.1bn on share repurchases last year, and Buffett noted in his letter that it had already bought a further $1.2bn of Berkshire stock in 2022.

2. Warren Buffett's Latest 7 Buyings:

The company added few new positions to its $351bn stock portfolio and instead was a net seller of equities. Berkshire spent $8.4bn in 2021 buying stocks. By contrast, it sold shares worth $15.8bn.

This SEC filing revealed that Buffett and his team bought 7 stocks in the fourth quarter of 2021.

  • Adding more

Added more shares of Liberty Sirius XM Group Series A $(LSXMA)$,

Added more stake in oil and gas giant Chevron $(CVX)$ by one-third during Q4,

Added a little to its positions in Floor & Decor Holdings $(FND)$ and luxury home furnishings $(RH)$ in Q4.

  • New positions

Initially the new position of Activision Blizzard $(ATVI)$, was made before Microsoft's announcement of plans to acquire Activision for $68.7 billion. The annual letter emphasized the company had no knowledge of Microsoft's intent when it bought shares of Activision.

A new position in Liberty Media Formula One Series C $(FWONK)$ as Buffett's enthrallment with Liberty One SiriusXM Group's subsidiaries. This business is also known as Formula One Group.

Berkshire bought a stake in Nu Holdings $(NU)$, a Brazilian company that operates a digital banking platform. as Buffett is a longtime fan of bank stocks.

  • Inside which,

With the delay of the Major League Baseball season, Liberty Media Formula One Series C $(FWONK)$ looks worth investors' expectations.

While Berkshire completely exited its position in Sirius XM $(LSXMA)$, even the satellite radio company's business is improving.

Regarding Activision Blizzard's $(ATVI)$ current market cap is only slightly below the price that Microsoft plans to pay to acquire the gaming company.

Nu Holdings $(NU)$ only went public in December 2021, This fintech stock is arguably the riskiest among Berkshire's latest purchases.

$(RH)$ might be the closest thing to a bargain among Buffett's latest buys. The stock trades at 16.3 times expected earnings, well below the forward earnings multiple of the S&P 500.

Won't follow. We should buy stock which we have conviction in, and not blindly follow, even for investment god like Warren Buffett. I wish people who follow $BlackBerry(BB)$ "god" blindly good luck.

No i dont believe in hodl and long term investment as the best strategy for investment. Irregardless of strongest fundamental. Stocks still subject to market’s sentiment and speculative natures.

I am slowly inclined to buying $Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$. I really like the quote: the stock market is a voting machine short term but weighing machine long term.

    管理共同基金的投资策略跟散户还说不太相同。共同基金的规模会导致持仓流动性减弱,而散户基本无需担心持仓流动变现成本、变现周期和对市场的冲击。
