Will Semiconductor Capacity Breakthrough in the New Year of 2024? [Doubt] [Doubt] [Doubt] [Doubt] [Doubt]
Global semiconductor capacity is projected to surge by 6.4% in 2024, crossing the 30 million wafers per month (wpm) milestone for the first time, following a 5.5% increase to 29.6 wpm in 2023, as reported in the World Fab Forecast by SEMI.
The growth is attributed to capacity expansions in advanced logic and foundry, applications like artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, and recovering chip demand.
Increased global attention to semiconductor manufacturing's strategic importance for national and economic security, coupled with resurgent market demand and government incentives, is driving a rise in fab investments globally.
For such, I am bullish for the semiconductor and AI related stocks such as $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$
