Becoming less so with low comm, no min Fintech APPs like Tiger & MooMoo, even zero comm for US like Robinhood. However, big players still get priorities for IPO & pre-IPOs

I think the big hedge funds have all the power, money and leverage to move the market. If they want to short stocks, they can and do... and we poor retail investors either panic sell or just have to hang on tight during this wild ride. The only time when hedge funds were beaten was during the $GME saga but I think this current downturn is their revenge...

I must say I love this article. Not only does this show the change in mentality of the different generations but also the type of investors that are joining the market. There's just so many things to appreciate.Hedge funds are used to being able to manipulate the markets with superior capital and insider knowledge which was outdone by a collective agreement. They are butthurt as well. The smart managers would have known that the rally couldn't continue and would continue to short it. They are now in the typical retail investor's shoes.Retail investors are in a high that this has worked once and think that there's a chance for this to keep going on. It's not. Also understanding that the gain they made over the last year is a one off not the norm from the market literally crashing to it's lo

The imbalance between retail and institutional investors has always been there, and will continue to be there. Retail can never compete at the samelevel as hedge funds. What we can do is just to observe the trends, stay sharp and not over leverage ourselves. Invest safe everyone! :)
