Many ppl have the mindset that if a company pulls out from a market, its bad. However it take strong and firm leadership and courage to do so. From a business owner angle, I'll share why what SE did is good:1. The market isnt earning as expected. When this happens, companies often do agressive advertising, revamping, often without consideration on market needs. Sometimes its not that u are selling a lousy product. Its that the time isnt ripe and market isnt ready for u.2. Acceptance of failure. Liquidating assets from a market that doesnt generate revenue allows the company to pivot instead of "locking" money in something hoping to earn. Similar to stocks, its best to cut loss and look elsewhere. when u consider the opportunity cost, a move made is always better than remaining&nb
$MAPLETREE NORTH ASIA COMM TR(RW0U.SI)$Some math on the current pricing since many of my friends kept asking me why this price. - Nac's cash option is at 1.194. - Nac's annual divd is abt 6% according to past data from dividend.sg. So per quarter, we are expecting 1.5% which is 0.0179- So if divd factored in we see price at around 1.21- Current price is 1.22 which is not far off. This perhaps catered for a bigger divd slice ard 2% this quarter. Personally, I have sold NAC at 1.22, keeping the extra cash for other opportunities.
I'm a constant buyer of SE. Bought all the way down since $300. My latest entry price is $95. Many also asked me whether I made a wrong choice. My answer is to view the company fundamentals first. SE has nothing to hide here, its fundamentals are strong. Secondly, look at global economy and other macro factors. We have a perfect storm now, w feds, war, inflation. Everyone is down. Of cos the only thing i fear buying into SE is the US SINO political tension. There is a off chancethat the trade tension might escalate if China takes her stand w her political ally. That might possibly mean a delist of chinese adr and on the off chance SE. Overall gains outweigh risks. I will continue buying.
Yes agree! Buy when the market is fearful, because fortune favors the brave. No one knows when the market bottoms out. In fact, chances are u'll gain in the long run from just buying now, compared to waiting and nv deciding when to enter the market. A good enough entry is better then waiting and timing the market for the perfect entry.
