And I do like Nio(NYSE:NIO). But even I’m gonna stay away from NIO stock at this point, despite the ridiculously low price.It was less than three months ago when I said that a depressed Nio stock price could be a good opportunity. At that point in the calendar, Nio was down 36% in the first seven weeks of the year. But analysts were still humming a bullish tune, with potential upside of 140%.What’s happened since then? The bulls have gone into hiding and the bears are out in full force.Nio stock dropped another 33% since I wrote my last column. Now it’s down a whopping 58% in 2022, and 64% over the last 12 months. The one-time darling of the electric vehicle crowd is trading at its lowest level since August 2020.Nio sales in April were down 49% from the previous month, delivering only 5,074 units, and were down by 29% on a year-over-year basis.Semiconductor chip shortages and supply chain issues took a lot of wind out of Nio’s sails. The company recently halted production on weekends and limited operations during the week, citing shortages from suppliers.Then there’s the ongoing tension between Beijing and Washington, which is leading to threats that Nio and other Chinese stocks could at some point be delisted on U.S. exchanges.And you can’t overlook the resurgence of Covid-19 in China, coupled with Beijing’s strict no-Covid policies that triggered lockdowns in dozens of Chinese cities. That’s been a problem in particular recently, according to Morgan Stanley analyst Tim Hsiao, who said investors should carefully watch for reports of Covid-19 spread following China’s May holidays.I predicted that Nio would show some solid profits for investors this year. But now I’m nowhere near as confident. Sure, Nio could manage to stop the bleeding. But it’s going to take time – lots of time – for NIO to even think about getting back to the $50s. And as long as Beijing is prone to shut down communities in its aggressive strategy to limit the spread of Covid, then Nio production will always be threatened.The bottom line? Snap up NIO stock if you plan to hold it for five or 10 years, and you should make a profit. But if you are looking to boost your portfolio for the next few months, a Chinese EV company is the last place you want to be looking.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"NIO":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2049,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9063931598,"gmtCreate":1651381789614,"gmtModify":1676534899250,"author":{"id":"3581574861164416","authorId":"3581574861164416","name":"pennko","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581574861164416","authorIdStr":"3581574861164416"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like, pls. Dubbed the 'Woodstock for capitalists,' the event will take place in Omaha, Nebraska, and be presided over by Chairman and CEO Buffett and Vice Chairman Munger.

It is a unique opportunity for shareholders to hear Buffett, 91, and Munger, 98, discuss everything from investing, to their economic outlook, in addition to asking the dynamic duo questions. This year marks the first since the onset of the pandemic that the event will be held in person, with forty thousand shareholders expected attend.

Ahead of the event, though Russo said he's most interested to hear the observation of equity sales in general, he is equally interested in seeing Buffett and Munger interact.

"That's where the genius is revealed," Russo said. "You will take away from those conversations the messages that you can employ and build into your own investing strategy and approach. For me, it's Charlie and Warren's back and forth. That conversation has expanded with new members on the dais, and possibly more going forward. But that conversation, the high-level conversation, generally speaking the stuff that matters is the stuff about values and culture."

Buffett and Munger began holding the shareholder meeting decades ago, and it's since become a playground for investors around the globe. Shareholders throughout the world come to enjoy Berkshire-held company offerings like See’s Candies, Coca-Cola and Dairy Queen.

Russo, who has been attending the meeting for 30 years, said Berkshire is "very focused on expressing and showing examples' of how they value the investors."

'Extraordinary power'

This year, investors are eager to hear from Buffett and Munger following an array of investment pursuits, including stakes in Occidental Petroleum and HP, in addition to the acquisition of Alleghany, which Buffet purchased in March for $11.6 billion.

Over the last two years, Buffett and Munger have made their succession plan clear to investors, by installing four key executives at the helm of the conglomerate: Greg Abel, who heads Berkshire Hathaway Energy and is likely to become CEO, Ajit Jain, who oversees the insurance business, and investment managers Todd Combs and Ted Weschler.

When asked whether Warren and Charlie were open to new and exciting investments after introducing fresh blood into company, Russo feels optimistic.

"It's been amazing ever since I started," said Russo. "Warren, early days, decried the inability for his investment style to embrace technology because of its inherent short shelf life and the need to reinvest. And so that was the message. But somehow as that message was articulated quietly, they built a $31 billion stake in Apple that today is worth $150 billion, which today is worth over $150 billion. It's unbelievable for some who will say that they were slow off the start in technology."

In addition, Russo mentioned that Berkshire has continued to make international investments more frequently.

"The number one strength of Berkshire is that Warren Buffett, as he shows by his own work, believes he has the ability to do anything in the investment business, and he showed us that by all the steps he's taken over the decades," Russo said. "But he's able to do nothing for extremely long periods of time and that gives him extraordinary power."

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Dubbed the 'Woodstock for capitalists,' the event will take place in Omaha, Nebraska, and be presided over by Chairman and CEO Buffett and Vice Chairman Munger.It is a unique opportunity for shareholders to hear Buffett, 91, and Munger, 98, discuss everything from investing, to their economic outlook, in addition to asking the dynamic duo questions. This year marks the first since the onset of the pandemic that the event will be held in person, with forty thousand shareholders expected attend.Ahead of the event, though Russo said he's most interested to hear the observation of equity sales in general, he is equally interested in seeing Buffett and Munger interact.\"That's where the genius is revealed,\" Russo said. \"You will take away from those conversations the messages that you can employ and build into your own investing strategy and approach. For me, it's Charlie and Warren's back and forth. That conversation has expanded with new members on the dais, and possibly more going forward. But that conversation, the high-level conversation, generally speaking the stuff that matters is the stuff about values and culture.\"Buffett and Munger began holding the shareholder meeting decades ago, and it's since become a playground for investors around the globe. Shareholders throughout the world come to enjoy Berkshire-held company offerings like See’s Candies, Coca-Cola and Dairy Queen.Russo, who has been attending the meeting for 30 years, said Berkshire is \"very focused on expressing and showing examples' of how they value the investors.\"'Extraordinary power'This year, investors are eager to hear from Buffett and Munger following an array of investment pursuits, including stakes in Occidental Petroleum and HP, in addition to the acquisition of Alleghany, which Buffet purchased in March for $11.6 billion.Over the last two years, Buffett and Munger have made their succession plan clear to investors, by installing four key executives at the helm of the conglomerate: Greg Abel, who heads Berkshire Hathaway Energy and is likely to become CEO, Ajit Jain, who oversees the insurance business, and investment managers Todd Combs and Ted Weschler.When asked whether Warren and Charlie were open to new and exciting investments after introducing fresh blood into company, Russo feels optimistic.\"It's been amazing ever since I started,\" said Russo. \"Warren, early days, decried the inability for his investment style to embrace technology because of its inherent short shelf life and the need to reinvest. And so that was the message. But somehow as that message was articulated quietly, they built a $31 billion stake in Apple that today is worth $150 billion, which today is worth over $150 billion. It's unbelievable for some who will say that they were slow off the start in technology.\"In addition, Russo mentioned that Berkshire has continued to make international investments more frequently.\"The number one strength of Berkshire is that Warren Buffett, as he shows by his own work, believes he has the ability to do anything in the investment business, and he showed us that by all the steps he's taken over the decades,\" Russo said. \"But he's able to do nothing for extremely long periods of time and that gives him extraordinary power.\"","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"BRK.A":0.9,"BRK.B":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2697,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9069369082,"gmtCreate":1651237603620,"gmtModify":1676534875620,"author":{"id":"3581574861164416","authorId":"3581574861164416","name":"pennko","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581574861164416","authorIdStr":"3581574861164416"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like, pls. DIS stock is down 22.39%. But more pain is yet to come. A section of investors believes the time is ripe for purchasing DIS stock. However, a few indications indicate that the stock will fall more before landing on a bottom.In response to the Walt Disney Company’s decision to denounce the state’s anti-LGBT bill, Florida Republicans are making a legislative push for a special tax district targeting Disney itself. The Florida House voted 68-38 to pass a bill that would have ended all special tax districts created before 1968.Reedy Creek was established in 1967 and allowed The Walt Disney Company to build up its power in the state of Florida. It took over many responsibilities that would typically be assigned to a local government. The company provide utilities, emergency services, and more for its Florida landholdings.Reedy Creek allowed Disney to come in and establish itself as Florida’s largest private employer. That, in turn, led Disney to become one of the state’s biggest employers.Plus, DIS investors will find the latest Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) subscriber numbers a shock to the system. Netflix has been a dominant force in the TV streaming industry for almost a decade. However,it reported a 200,000 fall in the first quarter. Disney is investing billions in the streaming space. So, a slowdown for the industry’s bellwether is not great news.DIS Stock Is a Hold (for Now)DIS stock has been able to grow its revenue and earnings per share by expanding into new markets such as theme parks, cruise lines, and direct-to-consumer media services. The company also plans to increase its focus on digital media distribution in the coming years because it believes it will be more profitable than traditional distribution methods in the long run.Disney’s revenue sources are diverse. They include films (both animated and live-action), television programming, video games, publishing (books), consumer products like toys and clothes, theme parks like Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World Resort Orlando, digital media including ESPN+, ABC Studios-owned Freeform network.However, the latest developments will weigh down DIS stock in the short run. Therefore, this is not the best time to invest in this one.The company is gearing up for several high-profile releases in the coming months. They are sure to generate a lot of attention. Thanks to attractions like “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge“ and “Avengers Campus,” international visitors to the company’s flagship resorts in Orlando and California will increase. Additionally, new parks are opening throughout the world.You can also expect anotherAvatarthis year and sequels forDr. Strange,Thor,and likely another Black Panther movie as well. Therefore, DIS stock will shrug off the negative momentum. But do not expect all of this to happen overnight.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"DIS":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1595,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9014838471,"gmtCreate":1649637871009,"gmtModify":1676534541587,"author":{"id":"3581574861164416","authorId":"3581574861164416","name":"pennko","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581574861164416","authorIdStr":"3581574861164416"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like, pls. Buffett has been on a buying spree as of late -- adding to Berkshire's position in Occidental Petroleum and buying insurance company Alleghany for around $11.6 billion.Berkshire has a lot of attractive holdings, but four dividend stocks that stand out above the rest are United Parcel Service, Chevron, Procter & Gamble, and Coca-Cola. Here's what makes each stock a great buy now.1. There's never been a better time to own UPSUPS and FedEx stock are both down over 13% since March 29 despite both companies continuing to report excellent results. The issue isn't how either company has done but rather where it could be headed from here.UPS and FedEx have been successful in raising prices to combat inflation. But FedEx's commentary during its third-quarter fiscal 2022 earnings call on March 18 was a bit concerning. \"Several macroeconomic forces, including the tragic conflict in Ukraine, uncertainty around the pandemic, a tight labor market, supply chain disruptions, high energy prices, and inflationary pressure have dampened the current GDP outlook globally and for the United States,\" said Brie Carere, FedEx Chief Marketing and Communications Officer during the recent earnings call.However, UPS posted record-high revenue and a high operating margin throughout 2021, which allowed it to raise its dividend by a staggering 49%. UPS grew its business in 2020 and 2021 while many other industrial companies were struggling. It expects growth to slow in 2022 but continues to see strength in e-commerce and its international segment. With a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of just 13.1 and a dividend yield of 3.1%, UPS is simply too good to pass up.2. Chevron is mostly protected from downside riskLike the rest of the oil majors, Chevron is having an excellent year as high oil and natural gas prices provide a much-needed reprieve for energy companies that got taken to the cleaners during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Many exploration and production companies have more exposure to oil and gas upside than Chevron. But what Chevron has that many of its competitors don't is an excellent balance sheet, a low cost of production, and a track record for paying and raising its dividend. Given its solid fundamentals, it's no wonder why Chevron is the 11th largest holding in Berkshire's portfolio.3. Procter & Gamble may just be the safest stock on the planetLike UPS, Procter & Gamble isn't immune to inflation. But it has found ways to pass along those costs to customers. Sophisticated supply chains have helped Procter & Gamble retain high gross margins, while other consumer staple companies have been more affected by supply chain disruptions.Procter & Gamble is not an inexpensive stock or a fast-growing company. And it isn't a great value either, with shares hovering around a 52-week high and a P/E ratio of 28.1. However, P&G is a battle-tested business that has done well during periods of high inflation and even recessions.Like other defensive stocks, such as Walmart or Costco Wholesale, P&G stock deserves a premium price because its business should continue to do well even if the macroeconomic situation worsens. P&G has paid and raised its annual dividend for over 65 consecutive years, making it one of the longest-tenured Dividend Kings. A Dividend King is an S&P 500 component that has paid and raised its dividend for at least 50 consecutive years.4. Coca-Cola has a high dividend yield and a stable businessAlthough Coca-Cola is a completely different company from P&G, the investment thesis for both stocks is very similar. Like P&G, Coca-Cola is a Dividend King and has several well-known brands that consumers know and love. From its flagship soda products to Simply, Minute Maid, Vitamin Water, Smart Water, and acquisitions like Topo Chico, Coca-Cola is so much more than just the Coca-Cola brand.The investment thesis for Coca-Cola is that folks are unlikely to cut their spending on its products even during economic downturns -- making its business stable. Coca-Cola stock has a 2.8% dividend yield, which is quite a bit higher than P&G's 2.2%.A diversified basket of proven passive income winnersInvesting in equal parts of UPS, Chevron, Procter & Gamble, and Coca-Cola gives an investor a dividend yield of 2.9% and exposure to the industrial sector, the energy sector, and two different industries in the consumer staples sector. All four companies are long-term proven winners but are especially attractive buys during times of high volatility because investors can be confident that each business isn't going away anytime soon.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"BRK.A":0.9,"BRK.B":0.9,"FDX":0.9,"KO":0.9,"PG":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2417,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"defaultTab":"followers","isTTM":true}
