Wednesday Afternoon Market Recap
$Holley Inc.(HLLY)$ — Shares of the auto parts maker jumped 21.14% following upgrades by Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase. JPMorgan said the company was "back on track," while Bank of America noted it is "firing on all cylinders."
$Domino's Pizza(DPZ)$ — The stock surged 11.09% after Domino's announced that U.S. consumers can now order its products through Uber
Uber Eats and Postmates apps. The agreement has the potential to add Uber Eats incremental orders to 70% of Domino’s locations, the company said.
$Lucid Group Inc(LCID)$ — Shares of the electric car maker fell 11.82% after second-quarter deliveries fell short of analysts' expectations. Lucid delivered 1,404 of its electric Air luxury sedan, compared with analysts polled by FactSet expecting 2,000 deliveries.
Futures & Commodities
U.S. oil WTI August crude oil futures closed up US$0.92, or 1.23%, to US$75.75 per barrel, up US$1.25 or 1.7%, and the daily high rose above US$76, rising for two consecutive days to the highest since April 28; Lent crude oil futures for September closed up $0.71, or 0.89%, at $80.11 a barrel, up $1.09 or 1.4% during the day, rising for two consecutive days to the highest closing since April 25.
Gold futures in New York rose more than 1% on Wednesday to close at their highest level since mid-June. Gold prices were supported by a weaker-than-expected U.S. CPI in June, which led to a weaker dollar and lower U.S. Treasury yields. Gold futures for August delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose $24.60, or 1.3%, to settle at $1,961.70 an ounce, the highest close for the most-active contract since June 16.
