The Dow Jones industrial average closed in the red for an 11th straight session, its longest winning streak since February 2017, kicking off a busy week ahead of an important earnings week and super Central bank week.

Energy stocks led the rally as oil prices rose to April highs on stronger-than-expected earnings from Chevron and bets on tighter market conditions due to OPEC production cuts.

KeyCorp and other regional banks have recently released financial results showing stable deposits, boosting market sentiment, and regional banks are currently in rebound mode.

The Fed's rate decision on Wednesday will be followed by the European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan. In particular, markets will be paying attention to what Fed Chair Power and European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde say about the future of the economy, inflation and monetary policy.

More than 170 S&P companies will report results this week, including the three biggest players in the AI market, Microsoft, Meta and Alphabet. Semiconductor stocks will also be in focus, with semiconductor bellwether Texas Instruments due to report earnings on Tuesday.
