Stock futures remained mostly flat as investors awaited the release of Federal Reserve meeting minutes, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures down 0.1%, and S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures both declining by around 0.1-0.2%. The Fed's July meeting, during which rates were raised to their highest levels in over two decades, was set to post minutes at 2 p.m. ET. Economic data on housing, industrial production, and capacity utilization were also anticipated. Despite a recent losing session where major indexes dropped over 1%, companies like $H&R Block(HRB)$ and $CAVA Group Inc.(CAVA)$ saw gains on strong quarterly reports, while $Target(TGT)$ rose even after the retailer lowered its full-year outlook. Concerns over financial stocks arose as Fitch warned of potential credit rating downgrades for numerous banks, adding to sector challenges following recent downgrades by Moody's. China's weaker-than-expected retail sales and industrial production data, coupled with an interest rate cut by the central bank, also impacted investor sentiment. As the month progresses, major indexes are on track for losses in August, with the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 set to drop around 5% and 3.3% respectively, and the Dow projected to decrease by 1.7%.
