"Have your life experiences ever sparked a keen interest in certain stocks?", such is the question we asked Tigers in last episode of [Thursday Special]. Having different life experiences each, Tigers were providing many unique insights about the markets, allowing us to get some valuable observations that we may never make in our lives. It's good to know without the same effort.

Now, let's take a look at what Tigers said🐯

@Lionel8383

I worked with Formula 1, and often times there are many trackside advertising banners like Salesforce, AWS, and sponsors like Palantir, Cognizant and it prompted me to research into those companies last year.

@Shyon

Yes I did have such experience where I work in a semiconductor mnc and for the recent two years, a lot of my colleagues "jumped" to my neighbour company, $KLA-Tencor(KLAC)$! The situation stayed for about two years until some team almost got everyone left and joined that company in the end. The offer and compensation should be quite attractive, until I go and search the company profile. Wow, they are really very diversified and innovative in their products. After looking into their earnings release for the past quarter, I decided.... Boom... to have my first entry. The outcome turned out to be a very positive one with the share price keep shooting high. [Miser] [Miser] [Miser] Really amazing to discover a company in such way.

In previous years when Singapore are promoting optical fibre, only one company manage to get the contract from the governing board to pull the wires and install optical fibre in every home, that's $NETLINK NBN TRUST(CJLU.SI)$. I then invest in it.

@Snoopymint

I started to like Microsoft ever since i got the first hands on to computers in the late 80s. That thrill is unforgettable and never get bored with exploring what computers can do for us. As years go by, when we have our first Windows application, $Microsoft(MSFT)$ never fail us in its innovation. To-date, i still very much into Microsoft and follow the company progression. Now MSFT has built their first data centre in my country and I’m part of it

Remember growing up with Post Office Savings Bank (POSB was subsequently acquired by DBS) which has very good national campaigns to help cultivate saving habits from young age and then save-as-you-earn. Nice to have some savings as source of fund for various investment options and lately into stocks with Tiger brokers. Look forward to continue trade and invest in strong banks like $DBS GROUP HOLDINGS LTD(D05.SI)$, $OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$ and $UNITED OVERSEAS BANK LIMITED(U11.SI)$ which are really good stocks with proven track record of reliable dividend payout to save more for retirement.

@TigerOptions

Over the years, I became a loyal user of Tupperware products, particularly their water bottles. I appreciated their durability and quality. One day, as I was enjoying a sip from my trusted Tupperware bottle, I decided to check the company's stock price out of curiosity. To my surprise, the stock had taken a significant hit, and there were alarming reports suggesting that the company was facing financial difficulties and might even be on the brink of closure.

This revelation sparked my interest in Tupperware's stock as a potential investment opportunity. I believed that the brand's reputation for quality and its loyal customer base could help the company weather its current challenges and eventually recover. With this in mind, I decided to buy some shares as a speculative investment, hoping that the stock price would bounce back in the future.

However, I wasn't without caution. Given the uncertainty surrounding the company, I set a stop-loss order to limit my potential losses if the stock continued to decline. It was a calculated risk, but I felt that Tupperware's long-standing presence in the market could work in its favor.

Unfortunately, my timing was not ideal. Shortly after I was stopped out of my position due to my predetermined stop-loss level, Tupperware's stock became the subject of intense speculation and social media-driven trading, turning it into a meme stock. The stock price skyrocketed rapidly. I watched in disbelief as the stock continued to surge, missing out on the significant gains that followed.

😎That is the end of this episode.
