On Tuesday (28th), the dovish comments of Federal Reserve officials boosted market sentiment and US bond interest rates plummeted.

In political and economic news, Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said earlier Tuesday that he is "increasingly confident" that current policy will do a good job of slowing economic growth and bringing inflation back to its 2 percent target. If the data show that inflation is slowing for several more months, the Fed could then start cutting its policy rate simply because inflation is low, raising the prospect of a rate cut early next year.

On the same day, Fed Governor Jeffrey Bowman reiterated that he would support another rate hike if data showed that inflation was stalling or not enough to bring inflation back down to 2 percent.

Nick Timiraos of the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), widely regarded as the "Fed's mouthpiece", wrote that even among the Fed's hawkish camp, they have little interest in the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) to raise interest rates in December.

The comments from Fed officials come ahead of the Dec. 12-13 policy meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, which is widely expected to keep rates on hold.
