Options Market Statistics: Micron Shares Soar and Options Pop on Forecast for Quicker Recovery in Chip Demand

Apple said earlier this week it will stop selling two Apple Watch models released this year, the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, on its website starting Thursday, and in Apple stores starting after Sunday. The company will still sell older models.
The move is in response to orders issued by the ITC in October that found that the Apple Watch's blood oxygen sensor had infringed on intellectual property from Masimo, a medical technology company that sells to hospitals.
$Micron Technology(MU)$ shares rose by 8.63%, closing at $85.48. Its options trading volume is 0.45 million. Call contracts account for 63.6% of the whole trading volume.
Chipmaker Micron Technology's shares jumped over 8% on Thursday after it predicted a strong recovery in the supply-demand balance for memory and flash storage in 2024.
The company's quarterly results on Wednesday exceeded market expectations and it forecast a strong February quarter in a clear sign that memory chip prices will improve next year to recover from a months-long downturn.
