$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$
Hi I'm Daniel. I did the research so you don't have to.
The market cap of Apple Inc. (AAPL) is approximately $2.5 trillion. The market cap of NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA) is approximately $2.13 trillion. The fight is nearer than I actually think.
I have been a keen observer of Apple. As with any typical tech companies, Apple launches new products every other year, but the success rate isn't always high. Their core products are still the iPhone, ipads, macbooks, airpods and recently airtags (low margin). Projects that didn't do so well are Apple headphones, the super expensive iMac, apple TV and apple music, and of course their electric vehicle venture.
Whether Apple can continue to fly its flag high depends on the new products they launch every year. It is both a good and bad thing. In comparison they are more vulnerable than NVIDIA, because they are more exposed to public judgement than NVIDIA.
Every year Apple launches new products, the cult demand for Apple new products usually sits around a comfortable region far from absolute failure. So more launches means more money right?
However the latest slew of new launches seems to be on the premium side, making it an obstacle for a particular segment of its customers. Further, there seem to be a decline in the level of innovation in each product launch. On a general outlook, I would say business is good but not booming.
As far as the Chinese saying goes, building a successful business is hard, but maintaining it is harder. I will add that to run a business at the highest level is an almost impossible task.
I'm not saying NVIDIA has always been a fantastic company. I think a good part of it's success is being at the right place at the right time. Nvidia has it own share of hits and misses in their projects too, but it's less renounced than Apple. In the past few years, NVIDIA has wrote on several waves that are not created by them (unlike Apple), but rather like a well placed striker in the penalty box, waiting to shoot for goal. What I'm talking about is the Crypto mining wave, the meta verse wave, the IOT wave, the AI wave.
That being said, I'm not saying it's pure luck that they found success. The real strength of NVIDIA lies in a strong management team that is able to quickly manueveur a Company of such monstrous size. Looking at their projects, no doubt the management team is already way ahead of time, probably looking at 5-8 years ahead when it comes to planning and strategising.
With all of this and the fanfare, it's hard to imagine that NVIDIA cannot cross $3 trillion in 2024.
I do hope that nvida will do a share split soon as it is way too expensive. Luckily I am able to accumulate some using the fractional share investing feature on $Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ . I intend to ride this wave into the future! Cheers!
