TQQQ ETF - A Good Tactical Bet To Capture Uptrend in QQQ

🌟🌟🌟What an exciting day for the US markets today as the 3 major indexes rallied to all time high after the US Feds held rates at 23 year high and maintained expectations for 3 rate cuts before the end of 2024.

$Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ)$  closed at 1.19% today.  It is now up 10.2% year todate and in 2023, QQQ has skyrocketed by 43%.  A great way to capture this uptrend momentum is to buy $Nasdaq100 Bull 3X ETF(TQQQ)$  which provides 3x leveraged exposure to a modified market cap weighted index tracking 100 of the largest non financial companies  listed on Nasdaq.

TQQQ is a leveraged ETF that delivers 3 times the exposure only over a 1 day holding period.  However TQQQ is not suitable for long term holdings due to its compounding nature.

The Fund Manager is ProShares and TQQQ was established in February 9 2010.  Assets Under Management is USD 20.41 billion.  The expense ratio is rather high at 0.88%.

TQQQ pays dividends every 6 months.  The current dividend yield is 1.1%.

Performance wise TQQQ is up 3.5% today while QQQ is up 1.19%.  Year todate TQQQ is up 28% while QQQ is up 10%.  In 2023 TQQQ is up 138% versus 42% in QQQ.

For those who are new to investing, QQQ is one of the best established and most actively traded ETFs.  QQQ only invests in non financial stocks listed on the Nasdaq and has a huge tech exposure.

QQQ's Top 10 holdings include the Mega Cap Tech stocks such as the Magnificent 7 - Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, $Amazon.com(AMZN)$  , $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$  , Google and  $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$  plus Broadcom and Costco.

The Top 10 weightage is 47%.  Total number of Holdings is 102.  The expense ratio is 0.20% in comparison to TQQQ's expense ratio of 0.88%.

I would buy and hold QQQ long term but in the short term, I would boost my returns using TQQQ.   To me, TQQQ is a lot simpler and easier than using Options Strategies which is more complex.  The other advantage that TQQQ has is that my losses are capped at my original investment while in Options losses can be far more.

QQQ and TQQQ are 2 ETFs that complement each other - QQQ for long term and TQQQ for short term trades.  That's my favourite way of investing.
