America's Biggest Car Companies Are in Trouble
How do they $General Motors(GM)$ $Ford(F)$ phase down the SUV business while transitioning to the EV business?
Wait, what? To make EVs, GM and Ford have to "phase down" SUVs? They need to voluntarily give up a profitable business because something, something climate change?
Do Americans need to start driving European-style tiny cars? My family of 6 (dog included) needs to get a minivan or drive 2 cars to get anywhere?
People buy EVs because...they want to.
People buy trucks and SUVs because...they want to.
People don't buy EVs...because they don't want to.
Not right. Not wrong. It just is.
Are there enough chargers out there in the world?
The DOE says there are 74,000 chargers and that probably underestimates by a wide margin.
Again, EVs aren't selling and it CAN'T POSSIBLY be because people choose not to buy them, so what is it? Let's pick a lack of chargers because it's impossible to refute that talking point.
Wishful thinking isn't an economic driver and it isn't going to change consumer behavior.
EVs are coming, just not as fast as many people want. That's OK!
