In 3 weeks’ (max) time, Q3 2024 quarterly earnings reporting, will begin again.
In light of an endless cycle that repeats every 3 months, how does an investor “strategize & plan” his/her investment?
The answer is out there. If we look hard enough, we might just find the answer.

Latest AI Developments.
The race to achieve Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) continued apace with what felt like a monumental week in AI rapid development.
Focus is shifting towards (a) innovative applications and (b) algorithms that can maximize the potential of existing hardware.
This strategic shift suggests that the future of AI lies not just in the silicon chip, but also in the ingenuity of its developers.
Below were the top AI stories from last week
(1) Apple Intelligence soft launch.
It was an eventful week for the Cupertino-based device manufacturer, debuting many items: (see below)
Release of iOS 18, WatchOS 11, and MacOS 15, AI-enabled operating systems that is integrated with Apple Inc’s new system "Apple Intelligence", that combines generative AI with personal context to deliver intelligence that is useful and relevant to users.
Official launch of iPhone 16 & Apple Watch 10. with a more powerful chip to enable smooth execution, including taking better photos & videos (in low light). All the while supported by a battery that runs longer, allowing user to get more things done.
Release first update (18.1 beta) to the new OS that include Apple Intelligence features, that was available (previously) for developers to test, develop and refine. Official launch will be in October 2024.
Invest : $Apple(AAPL)$, a FAANG and Magnificent 7 member.
(2) Lionsgate & Runway partnership.
Hollywood writers protested in the Summer of 2023, against the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the film industry.
Despite this, Lionsgate has now teamed up with Runway to create a new AI video tool.
Lionsgate and Runway will co-develop and “train” a “video generation AI model” tool, leveraging on Lionsgate's expansive catalog of movies & tv shows to hopefully generate cutting edge new content in a way that’s cost efficient.
Many people believe that this could lead to fewer jobs for artists and other workers involved in filmmaking.
Invest : $Lions Gate Entertainment Corp Class A(LGF.A)$ - US entertainment company, specializes in producing and distributing films and TV shows, with moderate profitability in FY 2023, mixed so far in FY 2024.
(3) Snap augment reality (AR) peripherals.
Snap keeps trying to make augment reality (AR) glasses an “in-thing”.
It has released its 5th version of Spectacles AR glasses that have (a) a wider view and (b) a bigger display.
More importantly, Snap is reported to be teaming with OpenAI to bring “cloud-hosted multimodal AI models” to the smart glasses.
Unfortunately, the new glasses are heavy (226 grams), >100 grams heavier than its 2023 predecessor.
Currently available (only) to developers at $99 monthly rental for program access.
No words yet, on when a consumer version will be released.
Invest : $Snap Inc(SNAP)$ a technology company offering Snapchat, a visual messaging app that allows people to communicate visually through short videos & images, along with its AR glasses that capture photos and video from a human perspective.
(4) Veo - Youtube’s new weapon.
This week, YouTube has added new AI tools to attract and help, new users to make videos with ease.
This was achieved by incorporating DeepMind’s Veo (video generation model) into YouTube Studio.
The tools (aka “brainstorm” assistant) can (i) suggest topics for a video, (ii) generate titles, thumbnails, and even create parts of a script.
Use Veo with Dream Screen, content developers could create animated backgrounds for their videos.
This will help content developers make fun & exciting videos to compete with apps like TikTok.
Invest: $Alphabet(GOOG)$ - Google’s parent, is a tech giant leading in areas like (a) Search engine, (b) Advertising, (c) AI, (d) Autonomous driving, and (e) Cloud computing.

Current post focuses on how AI can:
Help improve people’s lives via AI apps or tools.
Save money for businesses.
AI’s area of focus will need to evolve and grow.
If it does not value add, it will disappear, like Metaverse & Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
If I have to rank the 4 stocks mentioned in terms of investability, it would be
(1) Alphabet.
With everyone seeking alternate income stream, nowadays and Youtube’s incentive to encourage content postings, the lure and rise of future content creator and the next influencer is here to stay.
(2) Apple Inc.
CEO, Tim Cook unveiled Apple Intelligence (AAPL’s take on artificial intelligence) to the world during it’s annual June 2024 - Worldwide Developers Conference (WDC).
Since then, it remains on schedule to deliver what have been shared & promised.
While Apple Intelligence’s success is yet-to-be determined, iPhone 16s fever is still raging.
(3) Lionsgate entertainment corp.
I think the new tool will be most helpful during post production, helping film maker fix “mistakes” without the need for reshoot, that is expensive and difficult to arrange.
If the new tool could be used in film-making as well, it could mean making a blockbuster movie with a blockbuster budget, a thing of the past.
(4) Snap Inc.
The global market for Smart Augmented Reality (AR) Glasses is estimated at 678,.600 units (in 2023) and is projected to reach 13,000,000 units (by 2030), growing at a CAGR of +53.0% from 2023 to 2030. (see above)
Based on market research papers, the top sellers in US are (a) Alphabet’s Google glasses, (b) Microsoft’s Hololens (c) Vuzix’s M400, (d) Magic Leap and (e) Snap’s Spectacles.
Is it obvious, the best AI stock to bet your bottom dollar will be Alphabet’s Google ?
