🏠 When Buying a House, Take Note…

Before committing, check these two things:

🚪 Main door directly facing a window?

Energy (and even money 💸) may “flow in and out” too quickly. It also reduces privacy and may cause strong drafts.

🔥 Bedroom next to the kitchen?

Heat, noise, and cooking smells can affect rest and sleep quality.

Not everything is a deal breaker — but layout matters more than fancy renovation.

Choose comfort, privacy, and good energy over just looks. ✨

Buy smart, live better, get richer . 🏡

What about facing? You are no longer in the basic level. My father used to tell me to check the facing? If the house is facing west (you get the afternoon heat, so house will be hot and uncomfortable during bedtime). In Australia, it depends on which rooms get the afternoon sun. I tried to grow a lemon 🍋 tree to cut down the afternoon sun for that particular room, alas the tree didn’t grow (after many years, remains dwarf size when it is supposed to be full size!) I bought another dwarf cherry 🍒 tree at the same time but I got a full grown tree instead [Facepalm][Spurting].

Ya, I think still relevant for Muthu, especially during morning rush or when stuck in the jam 🚗
Just on 987, sometimes switch to 93.3 or 97.2 also — music + DJ talk, traffic updates, people calling in to rant also quite shiok 😄 No need to think what to play.

FM98.7?! Thought that’s for my dad generation? [Tongue] Used to be FM93.3 but it’s too noisy for me now. Think FM97.2 might be more appropriate now?

It’s a regular on FM 98.7’s playlist. Some songs never go out of style, like Majulah Singapura. [Happy] [Grin]

    North & East
    Advantages:
Rooms get plenty of natural light → bright and cheerful
Warm in winter → saves heating $
Comfortable temp for living areas and bedrooms
Ideal for solar panels or growing sun-loving plants
    Disadvantages:
Can get too bright in the AM if east-facing windows are large → glare
Some rooms may overheat slightly in late AM/early afternoon if not shaded
    West
    Advantages:
Good for evening sunlight → warm living rooms or patios
Can enjoy sunsets from windows or backyard
    Disadvantages:
Afternoon sun is harsh → bedrooms and living rooms can become uncomfortably hot
    Higher cooling costs in summer
Can fade furniture, curtains, or flooring over time
    South
    Advantages:
Rooms stay cool → good for hot climates
    Shaded and comfortable in summer
Useful for storage rooms, bathrooms, or secondary bedrooms
    Disadvantages:
Little direct sunlight → darker, gets haunted easily, mouldy, colder rooms in winter
    Not ideal for plants
Living spaces may feel gloomy without extra lighting

Yup 😄 In SG, north or south facing doesn’t matter much 🌞 Both get about the same sun most of the time.
Location, Direction, Layout matters in SG.

Actually I think it also depends on the country we reside in. Northern hemisphere, south facing should see more sun while southern hemisphere would see more sun in north facing, right? [Thinking] Singapore in equator should be equal north or south facing??
