BYD is also an OEM maker for brands like Toyota and is one of the biggest EV battery suppliers in China. They also offer battery storage and electric rail solutions in other offerings. BYD's battery base in Wenzhou has a planned investment of RMB 6.5 billion, with the first production line expected to start production in 2024 (as reported in Feb 2023). BYD has launched the deployment of the project, which will begin construction in the second quarter and is expected to be in commercial operation by the end of the year.
