$JEF Jefferies Q3 2022 Results. Indicator to GS & MS Earnings?
Just when I thought I am thru with quarter earnings reporting, here I am taking a stab at another.
My last quarterly earnings post was for Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA); a stock that I am monitoring.

- An American multinational independent investment bank and financial services company
- Broadly speaking, it provides 3 main banking activities to clients. Namely (1) Capital markets & Financial advisory services, (2) Institutional brokerage, Securities research, and (3) Asset management.
- Jefferies Financial Group results are often viewed as a prelude to earnings by Wall Street titans like $JPMorgan Chase(JPM)$ , $Goldman Sachs(GS)$ and $Morgan Stanley(MS)$. Do you think so too ?
- Last but not least, as of Sep 2022 - $Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.A)$ has purchased 433,000 shares of Jefferies Financial Group. This is salient enough a reason no ? LOL.

- Net revenue is $1.44 Billion > market expectations of $1.17 Billion. Compositions - (a) Investment Banking ($568 Million); (b) Capital Market ($478 Million); (c) Asset Mgmt ($402 Million)
- Earnings per share is $0.57; in-lined with expectations. However, lower than 2021's $1.20 which was an "abnormal" year.
- Annualized return on adjusted tangible equity of 7.2%
- Quarterly cash dividend of $0.30 per common share confirmed payable on 24 Feb 2023
- Repurchased 3.9 million shares of common stock for $121 million, or an average price of $31.24 per share
- Board of Directors has increased its share buyback authorization back to a total of $250 million
